Dr. Miller
left his private practice over seven years ago due to the restraints put
upon him by insurance companies. He did not feel he could treat his
patients in the best way possible and break even on office expenses. He
was forced to see at least 30 patients per day and had 2000 patients
on his roster, not including the times he needed to see his partners'
patients because they were not in the office.
Charging a retainer takes the insurance company out
of the equation, leaving him free to care for his patients. We limit the
number of patients the doctor will take to 300. This way, we can spend
as much time as needed to help you best understand the full scope of
your medical issues. We schedule each patient for an
hour or more appointment when you come to the office. You will not
have to wait when you come to our office, and most likely you will be
the only patient in the office when you visit us.

You will see the
difference the minute you walk into our office. You will never feel
rushed through, like you are part of an assembly line. We want to
spend as much time as you need to understand your medical issues.
Upon signing on as a patient, you will receive a
head-to-toe physical, complete with EKG and blood work. Based on
the findings of this initial assessment, we will tailor your treatment
plan to achieve optimum health and wellness for you. Our goal is
for you to be a healthy and happy individual, living your life to its
fullest.
The
decision is up to you. Many of our patients continue to carry insurance
for emergency purposes. The retainer covers services performed only in
our office. Any diagnostic procedure outside our office or hospital
services will still be paid for by your insurance.
The good news is, in response to the growing
concerns about escalating health insurance costs, many companies are
addressing this issue by offering employees the option of Health Savings
Accounts (HSA). These are pre-tax funds that you can set aside for
medical expenses. You can couple your HSA with a higher deductible
insurance plan to cover a serious or catastrophic illness or accident,
and pay simple outpatient expenses out of pocket as your deductible. In
the long run, this will likely save you money, compared to paying for
full insurance coverage on a monthly basis. This puts YOU in charge of
your healthcare, rather than your insurance company!
Yes! As long as you are a patient at Riverside Methodist Hospital, we
will see you and take care of you as your primary care physician. This
service is part of your retainer and will not incur any additional
charges.
“Our health care is a priority for us. We were looking for a medical
practice with excellent health care on a personal level, same-day
appointments, and easy access to our doctor after hours. Dr. Miller and
the staff of Omega Healthcare (now OPIM) have exceeded our expectations. Office
visits are available the same day with no long waiting, and Dr. Miller
is available by phone 24 hours a day. He has even made several house
calls for an elderly family member during her illness. We are very happy
with our choice of Olentangy Private Internal Medicine.”
